What else did I see on my travels to central Illinois? Baby ducks at a pub, miles of empty ADM tankers, home vegetable gardens, acres and acres of corn and soybeans being planted and some peeking out, a plant sale for a community garden, many food troughs, a farmer’s market, and lots of midwest skyscrapers err, grain elevators. For a interesting contrast on food production in central Illinois check out Steve Ettlinger’s recent article.
